Fluffed it

Due to a series of mistakes and disasters I have already broken my new extruder head

I made a couple more pulleys using PLA, but then decided that the barrel was too short and tried to remove it. Moral of the story, don’t try to remove a nozzle from a barrel after extruding plastic through it.

    Yes you have to take it apart while it is hot, which can be tricky.

    How did you come to the conclusion your barrel was too short? what were your symptoms?

    I feel your pain..

    What led you to believe the barrel was to short?

    @Leav @Richard
    PLA was melting all the way up the barrel, and leaking back down the threaded end of the thermal insulator.

    Yep heating it and removing it was what I was trying to do when I crushed the barrel with my wrench pliers, probably wasn’t getting it hot enough.

    We learn by our mistakes ;)
